Bucs Update. Derrick Brooks Retires

All-time great Bucs LB Derrick Brooks made his retirement from the NFL official. Brooks was released by Tampa Bay in February of 2009. Some teams showed interest in Brooks, but no team signed him last season. Brooks has remained active in the community. The Bucs will have a retirement ceremony at One Buc Place on Thursday.

One of the greatest players in Buccaneers history called it a career. Linebacker Derrick Brooks retired after playing in 14 seasons. Brooks was released by the Bucs in February of 2009, and was out of the NFL last year. After sitting out a year, the 37-year old Brooks made his retirement official on his website, DerrickBrooks.TV.

"This is my official retirement announcement," Brooks said. "I simply want to say thank you to all of you fans that supported Derrick Brooks as well as the Buccaneers throughout my 14 years."

Brooks went on to thank his family, Bucs ownership, his former coaches, teammates, singling out former defensive tackle Warren Sapp, cornerback Ronde Barber and former defensive end Simeon Rice. A special retirement ceremony will be held at One Buccaneer Place on Thursday.

Brooks played all 14 seasons in Tampa Bay where he became the franchise's all-time leading tackler with 2,196. In 1998 Brooks had a personal high tackle total with 189. That was the fifth-highest single season total in Bucs history. He also has the fifth highest total of interceptions in franchise history with 25 interceptions returned for 530 yards and six touchdowns. Brooks had seven total defensive touchdowns, which is second in franchise history behind cornerback Ronde Barber's 13 touchdowns by a defensive player (11 on defense and two on special teams).

During his Bucs career Brooks was extremely durable. The Florida State product Brooks played in 224 games for Tampa Bay. The most of any player in franchise history. Brooks went to 11 Pro Bowls in those 14 seasons, and his most recent appearance was for his final season when he was an injury replacement.

Brooks was the NFL Defensive Player of the Year in the 2002 season when the Buccaneers won their only Super Bowl Championship. That season Brooks became the only linebacker in NFL history to have three interceptions returned for a touchdown. He scored four touchdowns in the regular season, and then another in the Super Bowl that sealed the victory for Tampa Bay.

In 2008 Brooks was hampered by injuries, but still started every game for the 13th straight season. He finished second on the team in tackles with 111. Brooks also had seven tackles for a loss, one interception, one forced fumble, and eight passes defensed in his final season.

While Brooks will be always be remembered in Tampa Bay for his great play on the field, he also is treasured for his philanthropy off the field. Brooks started a charter school in Tampa, among many projects and charity work he did in the Tampa Bay area. Even though he was no longer a Buccaneer, Brooks has continued to stay active in the Tampa Bay community.

Bucs legend Derrick Brooks officially announced his retirement from the NFL on Wednesday. Brooks spent 14 seasons with the Bucs and helped lead them to their only Super Bowl Championship. What did his former teammates say about him? What are their favorite memories of No. 55? Find out the answers and more.

Number 55 is finally calling it quits.

After being away from the game for the last year and a half, Derrick Brooks has officially announced his retirement from the National Football League. For 14 seasons Brooks wore pewter and red. He was the face of the Buccaneers. And today, after a legendary career, he said goodbye.

"Today is a special day," said head coach Raheem Morris. "One of our legends walked away from the game and officially hung up the cleats. He did a lot of great things. He was a so-to-speak superhero, in our eyes, with what he was able to do with the Bucs and how he was able to carry this band for so long."

And what a superhero he was. Brooks was the heart and soul of the Buccaneers for many years. He was not only a vocal leader, but a productive one as well. During his career in the NFL, Brooks was a nine-time All-Pro and 11-time Pro Bowl selection. So, what happens now?

"I guess you just countdown the days ‘til he gets to Canton," said middle linebacker Barrett Ruud. "He probably had about as good of a career as a linebacker could have. He's won every individual award and has been at the biggest two team awards a football player could get with a National Championship and a Super Bowl."

The Buccaneers drafted Brooks out of Florida State with the No. 28 overall pick in the 1995 NFL Draft. Brooks, along with defensive tackle Warren Sapp (the Bucs drafted Sapp with the No. 12 overall pick that same year) helped build the Bucs into winners and brought them to a level that the franchise had never seen before.

"When we started being successful it was because of him and Warren," said former linebacker and current Pro Scout for the Buccaneers Shelton Quarles. "They did a great job of getting us to a place that we have never been before. So, when I look back on his legacy I remember him as being one of the cornerstones of the foundation."

Quarles was a teammate of Brooks' for 10 years from 1997-2006. Their friendship, along with the way he approached the game of football, is what Quarles will remember most about Brooks.

"He was a great friend first and foremost and the just camaraderie we had with one another [is what I'll remember]. How we moved on the field and [he showed me] how to be the ultimate pro," said Quarles. "He came to work everyday with his hard hat on and was ready to start digging. So, I appreciate his work ethic and what he did to prepare for the games both in the classroom and on the field."

That work ethic is what allowed Brooks to enjoy so much success on the field. The stats that Brooks amassed are immense. During his career, Brooks recorded 2,198 tackles, 25 interceptions, 24 forced fumbles, 13.5 sacks, and 112 passes defensed. He also scored eight defensive touchdowns. In 2002, Brooks was named the NFL Defensive Player of the Year and he lead the Buccaneers to their first and only Super Bowl Championship against the Oakland Raiders. That year is Morris' most fond memory of Brooks.

"Favorite? It has to be the six times he walked into the endzone in '02..." said Morris. "Other than that, there are too many special moments regarding Derrick Brooks. He was just one of the guys that mentored everybody. [He mentored] coaches. He mentored players...He was just the ultimate, motivated self-starter as far as our organization.

"When we lost to the Eagles in 2002, he told them that we would be back. Everybody in the lockerroom was angry and a little salty, but he knew we'd be back and we went back there and we beat them. And he was right."

Running Back Cadillac Williams played with Brooks for four seasons. His favorite memory of the weakside linebacker was on his first day as a pro.

"My favorite memory of D. Brooks on the field is when we always ran inside zone," said Williams. "I remember the first day I got here. That morning, we were in pads and I pressed the line of scrimmage and cutback on him and Brooks never gets beat on cutbacks. He is always there and he said, ‘You know what rook? You got me on that one, but you won't get me again.' And every time we ran that play, he was always yelling, ‘Hey! Hey! I'm right here!' So, that's what I remember."

Even with all the stats and accomplishments that he earned throughout the years, Brooks remained humble and was always ready to lend a helping hand to everyone around him.

"He was a great teammate," Ruud said. "He was a guy that went out of his way to help other people. He would show young guys how to do things. He was very approachable for a guy who was somewhat considered a superstar."

Ruud joined the Bucs in 2005 and immediately looked to Brooks for advice on how to improve his game.

"He was always very open for questions and I took advantage of it too," said Ruud. "I asked him as much stuff as I could and I still do now. Even though now it is probably less about football and more about other things, but I still ask a lot of questions."

Despite being cut by the Bucs in February of 2009 with other veterans Warrick Dunn, Joey Galloway, Ike Hillard, and Cato June, Brooks still has a presence that is felt by the players that are currently in the lockerroom.

"He is still in heavy contact with all of my players and is still in heavy contact with myself... He is one of our biggest guys and one of our biggest supporters," Morris said.

One of those guys is current weakside linebacker Geno Hayes. The Bucs drafted Hayes in the 2008 and the two hit it off right away. Why? Like Brooks, Hayes went to school at Florida State.

"He has meant a great deal to me," Hayes said. "He has taught me a lot of the small tricks to the trade. Just really being around him and watching him as a man and what he does off the field, it taught me to be humble about the situation I am in and to just go about things as a grown man. Just the one year of playing with him [meant a lot] and he has taught me a whole lot."

While some may view him as the heir to Brooks' spot, Hayes knows that no can ever replace a guy like Brooks.

"You really can't fill those shoes," said Hayes. "He's Derrick Brooks. He's the only Derrick Brooks out there so you can't really fill those shoes."

As good as he was on it, Brooks was equally impressive with what he did off the field. Brooks is well beloved in the Tampa Bay community, establishing Derrick Brooks Charities and heading the founding of the Brooks-DeBartolo Collegiate High School in Tampa. He also was named co-recipient of the prestigious Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year award in 2000.

"The guy as had a good of a career as you could have and he is probably even a better person," Ruud said.

It is all those wonderful qualities that made Brooks such a success. It is also the reason why he may not be totally done with football. Morris believes Brooks could have a future coaching - possibly with the Bucs.

"There is nothing in this building Derrick can't do," said Morris. "With his time hear with the Buccaneers, he could be the GM. He could be the head coach. He could be a linebackers coach. He can tell you how to work it, how to run it, what we can do, and what we should do because that is just the type of person he is. I think he would be a great coach. A lot of times great players have a hard time dealing with patience, but that was never one of his flaws... So coaching, if he chooses to, could certainly be in his future."

I know one thing that is in his future.

A first-ballot ticket into the NFL Hall-of-Fame.

T.O. toughest camp

Terrell Owens has been through eight training camps with the 49ers, two with the Eagles, three with the Cowboys and one with the Bills. But Owens says none of those camps has been as difficult as the one he's going through right now with the Bengals.
"No camp I've been to has been easy. This ranks in the top toughest that I've been through," Owens said. "I think that's partially because of the way they schedule things. There's not as many breaks between periods and as far as when I have to do stuff with the offense."

The good news for the Bengals is that (unlike 2005 in Philadelphia) Owens isn't making training camp tough on the team. Owens says this camp is tough in large part because of how hard he's working to learn the Bengals' offense.

"Every day is going to be different," Owens said. "Some days I spend extra time in my room looking over plays or after meetings talking about certain routes and formation. I'm still trying to get adjusted to alignment adjustments, my spots on the field on certain routes and combinations with certain formations."

Owens added that once he has the offense down, "we'll get better."

Fantasia said FML!?

Police sources and sources close to the investigation say Barrino was found in the closet of the Glynmoor Lakes neighborhood home and she was taken to Mercy South Hospital at Carolinas Medical Center in Pineville. She had taken a potentially LETHAL mix of over the counter drugs.
Well speculation has been BUZZING about why she tried to commit SUICIDE. Well MediaTakeOut.com has the answer.

According to a EXTREMELY CREDIBLE INSIDER - Fantasia's boyfriend, Antwaun Cook has decided to BREAK IT OFF WITH HER. That's right y'all, he DUMPED FANNY!!!

MediaTakeOut.com's insider explained, "Fantasia thought that Antwaun was IN LOVE WITH HER, and so she was willing to ride out [the bitter divorce] with him. Now that he's gone, she feels betrayed." The insider continued, "Now Fantasia is pulled into a lawsuit, and gets all the bad press, and she doesn't even have a man to show for it."

According to our snitch, when Fantasia realized she was in that predicament, she hit rock bottem. "I think it pushed her over the edge," tells MediaTaeOut.com's snitch.

But if you think that now that Fantasia's BROKEN UP with Antwaun, that his wife will NO LONGER be filing suit against Fantasia - THINK AGAIN. A person CLOSE to the Paula Cook told MediaTakeOut.com, "[Paula] still intends to sue Fantasia. She's caused so much stress and heartache to the family, she needs to pay."

And when asked whether Fantasia's recent SUICIDE ATTEMPT should get her off the hook with the lawsuit, MediaTakeOut.com's snitch replied, "You're assuming the suicide attempt was even real."

This story is just getting MORE AND MORE messy. You see ladies . .. . THIS is why you NEVER mess with a MARRIED MAN!!!!

THIS GIVERNMENT IS OUT OF CONTROL!!!!!!!! Cutting Food Stamps To Keep These Horrible Teachers Employed.

During one of the worst national recessions the government has decided to cut $12 billion from the Food Stamp fund, potentially effecting 41 million Americans.

In the midst of Michelle Obama’s campaign to eat well, the Government has decided to help its citizens do just the opposite.

House members convened Tuesday to pass the multibillion-dollar bailout bill for cash-strapped states. The Bill requires that $12 billion be stripped from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, commonly known as food stamps, to help fund programs that provide $10 billion to school districts. The money will be used to rehire laid-off teachers or ensure that more teachers won’t be let go before the new school year begins, keeping more than 160,000 teachers on the job, the Obama administration says.

Connecticut Rep. Rosa DeLauro, blasted the move as “a bitter pill to swallow” but still voted yes.

“I fought very hard for the food assistance money in the Recovery Act, and the fact is that participation in the food stamps program has jumped dramatically with the economic crisis, from 31.1 million persons to 38.2 million just in one year,” DeLauro said in an e-mail sent to FoxNews.com. “But I know that states across the nation and my own state of Connecticut also desperately need these resources to save jobs and avoid Draconian cuts to essential services for low income families.”

The Food Research and Action Center said a family of four would see benefits drop about $59 per month starting in 2014.

According to U.S. Department of Agriculture figures, the number of people on the food stamp rolls has been growing to record levels for 18 straight months. Nearly $5.5 billion in aid went out to beneficiaries in May alone. The number of May recipients marked a 19 percent increase from a year ago and the USDA projects that next year’s enrollment will reach about 43.4 million.

The Obama administration has pushed hard for the $26 billion bill. The White House argued that it is essential to protecting 300,000 teachers and other nonfederal government workers from election-year layoffs and will not add to the national deficit.

“If we do nothing, these educators won’t be returning to the classroom this fall, and that won’t just deprive them of a paycheck, it will deprive the children and parents who are counting on them to provide a decent education,” Obama said in the White House Rose Garden shortly before the bill’s passed on Tuesday.

“This proposal is fully paid for, in part by closing tax loopholes that encourage corporations that ships American jobs overseas. So it will not add to our deficit,” he said. “And the money will only go toward saving the jobs of teachers and other essential professionals…I urge members of both parties to come together and get this done, so that I can sign this bill into law.”

So they noticed a 20% increase in food stamp recipients and decided to cut the fund? It’s a sad day when the country has to choose between learning and living

One of the most gangster things of all time!

A flight attendant who was arrested after arguing with a passenger on a JetBlue flight -- making a grand exit from the aircraft by grabbing some beers and pulling the emergency chute -- is being held on $2,500 bail.
Jet Blue employee Steven Slater, 38, of Belle Harbor, Queens, was arraigned today on reckless endangerment and other charges after the dramatic incident Monday afternoon.
Court house sources tell NBCNewYork that Slater was overheard saying "he's not sure how quickly he can make bail." If he does not post bail by this afternoon he will be transferred to the jail at Rikers Island. Either way, he is due back in court on Sept. 7.
Slater was working on Flight 1052 from Pittsburgh to Kennedy Airport, which landed at around 12 p.m. Monday, when he got into a verbal altercation with a passenger, law-enforcement sources said.

Airline Steward at JFK Pulls Emergency Chute -- and Runs for It

Following a heated exchange, the flight attendant told off the entire plane on the public address system, activated an emergency chute near the back of the plane and jumped down the evacuation slide and ran for it.
The Assistant District Attorney said today the altercation began before the plane left Pittsburgh, when two passengers got in an argument over an oversized piece of luggage and the overhead compartments.
At the arraignment, defense attorney Howard Turman said Slater was under stress because his mother has lung cancer. Afterward, he provided reporters with a different account of what happened aboard the aircraft than the version initially offered by authorities.
Police had said Slater became when after a rule-breaking passenger defied requests to stay seated then accidentally hit him in the head with her luggage.
Turman said the dispute had begun earlier, when the flight was still waiting to take off from Pittsburgh, when two female passengers got into an argument over space in the overhead bins. That's when Slater was struck in the head, Turman said.
The dispute flared up again after the plane landed in New York when one of the women, who had been asked to gate-check her bag, was enraged that it wasn't immediately available.
"The woman was outraged and cursed him out a great deal," Turman said. "At some point, I think he just wanted to avoid conflict with her."
Slater asked for an apology but the irate passenger cursed him out, saying in effect "go f--k yourself" and calling him a "mo-fo," according to law enforcement source
Turman said the woman "cursed him out using the f-word both as a verb and an adjective."
Prosecutors said that at some point, Slater addressed the passengers on the intercom.
"Those of you who have shown dignity and respect these last 20 years, thanks for a great ride," he said, according to prosecutors.
Slater then activated the aircraft emergency slide on door R-2, proceeded to the chute, looked down to ensure that nobody was below it as he had been trained to do, and he deployed the device and went down it safely, his attorney said.
He also grabbed some beer from the galley before he took the plunge and then headed for the AirTrain, where other passengers from the flight reportedly saw him on the way home.
Slater was later arrested at his home in Belle Harbor by Port Authority officials. Police sources said that when authorities found Slater he seemed to be in the midst having sexual relations.
He is being charged with 2nd-and 4th-degree criminal mischief, 1st- and 2nd-degree reckless endangerment and criminal trespass in the 3rd degree, according to a spokeswoman for Queens DA Richard Brown. Slater faces up to 7 years in prison if convicted.
Judge Mary O'Donoghue also granted an order of protection preventing Slater from contacting the pilot of the flight or a JetBlue employee who investigated the incident.
Prosecutors said the emergency escape slide deploys at 3,000 pounds of pressure per square inch and "causes a risk of serious physical injury or death if it strikes people working under the aircraft." They also said the cost to replace the escape slide is $25,000, according to Jet Blue security.
But no one was injured in the incident and JetBlue, in a statement, added, "At no time was the security or safety of our customers or crew members at risk."
Slater, who worked for Delta before JetBlue, had been a flight attendant for 20 years.

oh lawd.... fantasia sextape on the way?

I have to be the one to say "Ew..." Fantasia is going to have a sex tape released pretty soon. Well, basically, this dude "Cook" that she was/is messing with has a wife. Anyway, Cook dude's wife now says that there is a sex tape of Fantasia somewhere. The wife says that Fantasia rubbed it in her face that she stole her man, but has publicly denied an affair. BUT, she does have "COOK" tatted on her upper torso. She met dude in a T-Mobile store. How does this happen? Did I mention that North Carolina is one of seven states in the USA that has a ''home wrecker'' law.

Boosie gettin in more trouble

The brother of a man accused of killing six people, including Baton Rogue rapper Chris "Nussie" Jackson, has been jailed since mid-June, for allegedly threatening to kill a witness involved with the case.
Derrick Louding, 22, was charged with witness intimidation, after he showed up at a woman's house and told her sister that he would shoot the house up until the occupants were dead.

He then allegedly brandished two fully loaded firearm magazines. According to Baton Rogue's The Advocate, Louding told the woman he was upset about his "boy being locked up."

Derrick Louding is the brother of a 17-year-old named Michael “Marlo Mike’’ Louding.

Michael Louding, along with Adrian Pittman, 36, and Trill Entertainment recording artist Torrence "Lil Boosie" Hatch, 27, were indicted in June of 2010 on first-degree murder charges, in the shooting death of a 35-year-old named Terry Boyd.

Michael Louding has also been indicted in five other deaths in the Baton Rogue area, including Chris "Nussie" Jackson, who was publicly feuding with Lil Boosie.

Hillar Moore, the District Attorney prosecuting the case, said that witness intimidation in Baton Rogue was common.

In May of 2009, Melvin Vernell Jr and Marcus Roach, managers of Trill Entertainment, were charged with attempted murder, armed robbery and illegal use of weapons.

The pair were accused of shooting rapper Bruce "Beelow" Moore in the face on July 4th 2005, in front of his store, Shop Smart Music and Fashion.

During their bond hearing, an FBI agent named Antony Jung testified that the men threatened witnesses in the case and a condition of their bail was to have no contact with the witnesses or they would immediately be thrown in jail.

Jung claimed that Vernell and Roach actually paid one witness to the shooting a $5,000 check drawn from a Trill bank account - which he claimed bounced.

The pair allegedly offered witnesses jobs and used brute force by beating another man connected to the case.

“If you see any of these people in a grocery store, you better leave. If you see any of them on one side of the street, you better get on the other side of the street,’’ Judge Michael Erwin told Vernell and Roach. “If you so much as sneeze in their direction, I’m going to put you in jail.”

In March of 2010, Vernell and Roach beat the attempted murder charge on a technicality, because the district attorney's office waited too long to bring the case to trial.

Both men are out on $350,000 bail, but still face weapons charges.

Police are still investigating Lil Boosie for as many as five murders, including his possible involvement in the death of rapper Christopher “Nussie” Jackson.

Lil Boosie remains incarcerated on a 1st degree murder for his allegedly paying to have 35-year-old Terry Boyd shot and killed and multiple drug offenses.

Additionally, Lil Boosie was charged with three counts of possession with intent to distribute narcotics, three counts of conspiracy to commit possession with intent to distribute narcotics, and two counts of conspiracy to introduce contraband into a penal institute.

The rapper allegedly attempting to import codeine and marijuana into the Dixon Correctional Institute in Jackson, with the help of a girlfriend named Walnita Decuir and a correctional officer both of whom were also charged with drug offenses.

"This is what happened," radio host A Plus told listeners. "We're about 30 seconds from going back on the air and what we do behind the scenes, we prep our interviews and let them know, 'Hey this is what we're gonna go over' and I told him what we were going to talk about. One of those topics was Waka Flocka -- mind you people, this is stuff off the air and I asked Gucci if it was cool to talk about it and his immediate manager pulls him out the studio. Mind you, this is ten seconds before we go back on the air. That's unprofessional. You don't yank anybody off the air like that when we're about to go on the air...That's your hero people, that's your guy. I don't know, I don't know how to feel...I'm the nice guy, you stepped on a nice guy, Gucci. Come on man, I don't understand that."

Watts and the house doing something different?

"I'm branching out to things outside of rap," Watts told SOHH. "Swishahouse has always been known for slowed down remixes and we're gonna keep doing that but we're gonna branch out in a whole bunch of different genres. I can't tell everyone exactly what direction it's gonna be in just yet, but it's something we're really focused on. The key to being successful in the music industry and with the business is paying attention to what's going on today and operate on a daily system. You can keep your morals on how life really is but if you're not riding in the car and have a motor in it, then you're not gonna get too far. You've gotta get out of that 'one' box. Hip-Hop has always had a wide range but you've got to evolve and grow with your career.

Bucs Update

Buccaneers head coach Raheem Morris weighed in on which players have impressed him lately after Monday morning's training camp practice. Morris said that going back to Saturday night and the most recent practices there were two players that were standing out for exemplary play.
"The individuals that have stuck out the last couple of practices really are Reggie Brown had a nice breakout evening, and Sabby [Piscitelli] played really well that evening and today they continued to play well," said Morris. "I wanted to mention those guys as guys that are on the come and guys that are doing good things for us."

Brown caught two long touchdown passes on Saturday night, and has been competing with a number of receivers for playing time. Piscitelli is in a battle with veteran free agent addition Sean Jones to remain as the starting strong safety. Morris was hopeful that that the competition for the starting spot would push Piscitelli to raise his level of play from the 2009 season.

"I really hope so, I really love when you bring competition amongst people and people standup and go about his business," said Morris. "There has been no pouting and no complaining. I told the team after practice we have a bunch of tweeks and my arm hurts and my leg hurts and we've been physical all week. Nobdoy cares. Bottom line is you have to go out there and make plays because nobody cares. You have to go out there and do your job. The writers, the coaches, your parents, your mom, the other players it doesn't matter. You have to do your job that day. That is what I went out there and told those guys. You have coaching and competition on your back. Nobody cares how good you feel that day."

The Buccaneers are looking forward to getting started with their preseason games. On Saturday Tampa Bay will travel to play the Miami Dolphins in South Florida, and right now head coach Raheem Morris and his staff are formulating how much the starters are going to play against the Dolphins.
"They'll get a little work, hopefully a series or so for the offense and defense," said Morris. "You want to get them about 12 snaps a piece and then get them off the field."

Morris said that he was unsure whether two injured rookies would be playing in the Bucs preseason opener. Defensive tackle Brian Price has missed a number of practices with a hamstring injury and cornerback Myron Lewis has been out with a hamstring as well. Price returned to practice somewhat on Saturday and Monday while Lewis was observing both sessions. Otherwise Morris said the team is very healthy and he is pleased.

"We are easing Price back into the mix in practice," said Morris. "Lewis is still day-to-day. I have to go talk to the trainer but we'll see where he is going to be as far as being put in the mix. We are very fortunate men with our injury situation. We have a bunch of tweeks here and there, but I'm very fired up about how the camp is going especially with how physical it has been. We've tackled a lot that first week, and to get out of it considerably healthy is a great job by our training staff and our players."

On Monday Buccaneers head coach Raheem Morris said he is happy with the progress of QB Josh Freeman. Morris says the signal callers' accuracy and decision-making is better. Freeman says he can improve and is working on developing more chemistry with the Bucs young wide receivers.

Buccaneers' second-year quarterback Josh Freeman is almost halfway through his first training camp as a starting quarterback in the NFL, and Freeman's head coach is pleased with the progress that has been made. Tampa Bay head coach Raheem Morris and offensive coordinator Greg Olson have been looking for Freeman to improve his accuracy, ball security, and decision-making in 2010.

"I always feel like I can get better and improve and I am still working and trying to be the best quarterback I can be," said Freeman. "I will go out and try to manage these games and get some wins."

Last season Freeman led rookie quarterbacks with a completion percentage of 54.5 percent, but that mark is not where the Kansas State product wants it to be. After practice on Monday morning, Morris said he has seen much improvement. Morris was able to take advantage of the Buccaneers' off day on Sunday to see how much better Freeman is compared to this time last year.

"I'm really fired up with where they are," said Morris. "I was looking at the tape. I went back and started looking at Josh Freeman's easy throws that he had last year. Whether it was check down, a shallow cross, or something where he looked deep and came down and dropped it off somewhere. To see the accuracy of where it was and the placement, he wasn't bad last year. But I'm so impressed because I did the same thing in this training camp and look at all his throws and watch the check downs, and not forcing things downfield, and getting it to the back or the crossing route. He is getting better and better.

"What we are trying to preach to him is that is what all the great ones do. Drew Brees beats you with an 80-yard bomb once in a while, but a lot of time he dinks-and-dunks you."

In nine starts last season Freeman and the Buccaneers produced a 3-6 record. The 6-foot-6, 248-pound threw for 1,855 yards with 10 touchdowns and 18 interceptions. He had a quarterback rating of 59.8. Freeman, 22, has made a conscious effort this training camp to take what the defense is giving him and work throws to his check down receivers.

"Yes no doubt, you want to get into a rhythm and catch the defense doing something they are not normally doing, and that's when you take advantage of it," said Freeman of checking the ball down and then going downfield.

The Buccaneers front office made it a point to upgrade the wide receiving corps this offseason. The Bucs traded for veteran Reggie Brown from the Philadelphia Eagles, and drafted Arrelious Benn and Mike Williams. With holdovers Sammie Stroughter and Maurice Stovall, Tampa Bay envisions a more productive unit in 2010. As the Buccaneers get into their preseason games Freeman feels continuing to develop chemistry with his receivers is an ongoing process.

"Yes, I mean we are still working with the young guys but I am trying to develop chemistry with all the guys. As route runners they are starting to understand where I put the ball in certain situations," Freeman said. "You can definitely tell Reggie has been around the game for a while, the new guys are learning from that. I can tell that these young guys are learning from the old guys."

Montana Fishburne Interview

Laurence Fishburne daughter Montana Fishburne

BV: How much did you make off of this? Was it six figures?

MF: I don't know.

BV: Well, everyone wants to know what your father thinks about it?

MF: I mean, I haven't talked to him directly yet. We have conflicting schedules, so it's been hard. But, he's upset. I hope he supports me. But as soon as I talk to him, you guys are going to hear something

BV: How has Kim Kardashian really influenced you?

MF: She inspired me to go to Vivid. I always wanted to do porn. That was a given. So when I decided to start getting in to it, to see how I was going to go about it, I looked to her. Kim Kardashian released her sex tape with Vivid. Paris Hilton, Kendra Wilkinson, Pamela Anderson, all these people. And they're well known for having celebrity sex tapes. And Kim's is the one that did the best.

BV: Now what's your association with Brian Pumper? He's saying that you have another movie coming out?

MF: I did a music video for him, but with my porn career, I'm focusing on Montana Fishburne with Vivid. That's what it is. The whole Brian Pumper thing, I look at it as a mistake honestly. And I'm trying to get away from that and focus on Vivid and the release of this movie.

BV: Do you think Brian Pumper will have a rap career now that he has a video out?

MF: No, I don't think his music appeals to the mainstream.

BV: When are we going to see you and him in action?

MF: Me and Brian are no longer in contact.

BV: Do you think he's exploiting you?

MF: Yes, I feel taken advantage by Brian Pumper. I don't really want to go into details about the situation. Jeremy [Greene, an aspiring porn actor], he feels for me, he knows how I feel about it. He has talked to Brian, and they have dealt with each other, because I don't even want to deal with him anymore. I'm not in contact with Brian Pumper, and I'm just trying to get rid of the situation.

Yelawolf on stereotypes

Rap newcomer Yelawolf recently talked about battling hip-hop stereotypes and dealing with doubters as a white emcee on the come-up.

Yela said preparing for critics, he still faces racial barriers on a daily basis.
"I still face it at every show, dog. There's always somebody. It never fails, never. Until I'm selling out my own shows and I'm going to be demo-ing for somebody. And somebody is not going to like me because I'm a white boy on stage rapping and I look different. That's something I will experience until everybody that came through the door came to see just me. I'm used to it though, when you're traveling with groups, you just have to be prepared to deal with it. Do your best to snap and walk off the stage holding your nuts. Always! That's how you got to be. I grew up in Alabama so I've heard and seen it all. Knowing your talent is probably one of the keys to be successful." (VIBE)
Recently, Yela said he felt it would take years before white rappers could be treated equally.
"Years and years of great white artists. It's going to take more classics from white artists that make international impacts," Yela said about clearing out discrimination. "I mean Rock n' Roll is black music, but there were plenty talented white Rock n' Roll that just kind of made that line disappear. It's going to take decades. It won't happen in my lifetime. The odds are just slim for a white artist in Hip-Hop. This is a black culture... it's just something you have to respect and appreciate. Have to be thankful that you're able to do it. Do what you do and love what you do. You have to be passionate about what you do and let it live." (All Hip Hop)

Game on gangsters

West Coast rapper Game recently singled out self-proclaimed "gangsta" rappers and pointed out the lack of real street credibility among them.
From Game's eyes there are handfuls of artists just portraying the image of a street gangster.
"All these people thinking they're gangsta. And after the Rick Ross song ["B.M.F."] everybody thinking they're Big Meech again, Larry Hoover," Game explained in an interview. Nobody really should wanna be that or aspire to be that 'cause you're gonna end up in a coffin. And trust me, man, most of these rappers, outside of me, 50 [Cent], and maybe Waka Flocka and some other muthaf*ckas, ain't never felt bullets man, ain't never had a brush with really actually having your life erased. So a lot of these rappers out here playing, man; that's just not the message I'm trying to send across no more." (Complex)
Recently, 50 Cent said rappers were using false tales to create a hardcore image of themselves to fans.
"It'll just make room for you to impact when [the hardcore] comes back," 50 assessed. "No one told the world to enjoy that [softer] music temporarily. I think a big portion of why people didn't want to hear the aggressive content is because the people conveying them were lying." (MTV)
Boxing champion Floyd Mayweather, Jr. believes some artists undergo image-changing moves to gain fame.
"You got rappers in today's time, they get a small advance from their record label, get a bunch of tattoos, a few piercings on their face, go to jail for 10 or 20 days, [then] they killers," Mayweather weighed in. "Next time out, they rock stars. I think rap is crazy, but it's still very creative." (MTV))

WAKA FLOCKA PAC??? GET THE FUCK OUT CU

Waka Flocka Flame recently announced plans to put together his Tupac Shakur-inspired Flockaveili debut album and revealed his discovery of the producer he calls the new Dr. Dre.
For the project, Waka linked with Rick Ross' "B.M.F." producer, Lex Luger, to provide over 10 cuts.
"Flockaveli is the name of my album," Waka revealed in an interview. "I was definitely inspired by Pac a while lot growing up, so people are definitely going to get to know me on a personal level...Out of the 15 or 16 songs that are going to make the album, Lex Luger probably did 12 of them. That's my Dr. Dre... and I'm his Snoop [Dogg] [Laughs]. He's the new sound of Hip-Hop. You ask anyone who needs a hit and Lex will come up in their conversation, guaranteed..." (VIBE)
Lex Luger recently talked about befriending a slew of rap stars off the success of his Rick Ross beat, "B.M.F."
"Spiff of Spliff TV reached out to me for the 'Hard In The Paint' instrumental because Ross wanted that," Lex explained in an interview. "People were bumping 'Hard In The Paint' in a car and he was like, 'What song is that?' This is before 'Hard In The Paint' even blew up...He found me on MySpace and Twitter and hit me like, 'I need some of this music.' And I told him, 'I got it, but I got other stuff that's way better.' I was sending Spiff 30 beats a day for seven days. I sent him a gang of beats and out of those beats was 'B.M.F.' and 'MC Hammer' -- [Because of that beat] the biggest names in the game want to set up studio time. Everybody came out the woodwork. I just came back from Miami being in the studio with Ross. I got songs with Soulja Boy, Tity Boi, Diamond. Diddy reached out. Pusha T." (Complex

Highlights from Kanye's Ustream

With over 50 music videos to his name, West chose 2007's "Flashing Lights" off his Graduation album as his favorite.
"My personal favorite music video, I don't know if I've ever said this in an interview, it's 'Flashing Lights,'" Yeezy revealed in his UStream broadcast. "Hands down. Like, by a mile. My personal favorite is 'Flashing Lights.' Actually, I got the same outfit from 'Flashing Lights' on right now. It was like the references, I loved all those simple images with the woman looking so powerufl and even though she's nude, it wasn't submissive in any way and that was one of the things on 'Flashing Lights' that this woman was so powerful when she hopped out of the car and we used a real American, Americana type car instead of trying to be extra sophisticated with some fancy new car. She had the mink coat with the lingerie, and her body was just my taste. And it was way different than what's in the magazines nowadays and what the fashion world says is hot. As you know, my taste is completely different. It's hood, I'm straight Chicago...It's kind of the brand that I want to put out. Even when we did the 'Power' shoot, the girls, some of the girls when they came to the set, they were shocking to some of the makeup artists because they hadn't seen girls with that level of body. Of course if we go to any club in the hood, World Star Hip Hop or something, you see that type of thing but in a world where it's breaking into the art and fashion world, they hadn't seen that." (UStream)
West also talked about being inspired by some famous celebrities.
And that's what I love. I love bringing my opinion to different places that hadn't seen that before. One of the hardest things and what I think is the most successful art -- is when it just connects across the board which is one of the hardest things to do. I always use the example of people like Will Smith and Marc Jacobs, people that can connect multi-culturally, that the work that they do can connect with the souls of so many...and when I make my music, every song, every line, I want to connect in that way. But be a hundred percent me. A hundred percent what I'm feeling." (UStream)

X's Wife Explains Divorce... Book Comming Soon

"He had four other children out of our marriage and I didn't know," she revealed in an interview. "I only found out about one, and it was the one in Maryland that was public. It was all over the news and I still was gonna try to make it work [but] after we did the show Soul of a Man, I guess the women felt some kind of way because he was doing a lot of paying child support behind my back and giving them money without me knowing anything. So once I came out in interviews saying this is my only daughter and this is my family I guess they started feeling some kind of way and they started sending lawyers and all these child support suits to my house and that wasn't acceptable...But when he started coming up with all these kids I was like I can't because for one, I have kids and I definitely don't want my daughter to think that that's okay. The drugs already was too much but then the cheating, I didn't even know he had time to do that. I mean, I never put it past him; I never say never but without protection? There was just a lot of unprotected sex and I have kids to take care of. I started thinking about all of that and I was like, I can't do it anymore. I felt he took me for granted."

The fuck is flocka talkin about?

Ok so Gucci Mane fires Flockas mom as a manager.... Flocka is on Gucci's Label... He is screaming Brick Squad... he has an album comming out with gucci mane and oj da juiceman... what is he talkin about here??

"I can say when you start getting hot, there are a lot of people that get in your ear. I call that the devil. It'll turn you against the people that helped you. They must have just felt like they needed a change. Maybe they felt like other people can take their career somewhere else. I don't know. Just like LeBron [James] going to the Heat. I ain't mad, though, or got problems with anybody. Moms is good; her bills are paid...Yeah, [it affected my relationship with Gucci] all the way. All the way. I ain't got beef or anything but it has changed. We don't talk anymore. Nicki is still my homey, though. I got her number and can call her whenever. My momma ain't got no problems with her or anything either. Let's make that clear."
