DJs descending on Sarasota for Vinyl Music Festival 2010

Let's say you're too cool for Nerdapalooza. Where can you go this weekend to hang out with an array of posh, pretty, pepped-up party people?
Look no further than Sarasota. Yes, stodgy old chardonnay-sippin' Sarasota.
The second annual Vinyl Music Festival is set to return to Sarasota from Thursday to Sunday. That's four days, 12 venues and more than 50 DJs spinning house, trance, breaks and all sorts of electronic music. Organizers are hoping for 5,000 fans -- not exactly Ultra territory, but not bad.
Don't expect household names like Fatboy Slim or Tiesto. But you should still see a wide variety of turntablin' talent from around the globe. Headliners include San Diego DJ house and trance duo Scooter and LaVelle; New York trance DJ Micro; and Vegas electronica and hip-hop spinner DJ Madam Malixa, above.
Venues range from restaurants like Ceviche and Horse Feathers to the G.Wiz Science Center to the Sarasota Municipal Auditorium, in what is described by organizers as "an unprecedented pairing between local government and music enthusiasts." (Click here for a map of venues.)
General admission weekend tickets are $40, VIP passes are $80. Tickets to single events are $15-$20.
