Scott Storch speaks on Detox.
Producer Scott Storch recently talked about Dr. Dre's long-awaited Detox album and said the rap veteran is taking a fresh approach to the project's overall sound.

According to Storch, Dre is taking a more experimental approach to the new record.
But don't expect the same sound as Dre's classic 2001 album. The beatmakers made sure not to include tracks that were too reminiscent of the past. "I think people will be pleasantly surprised when they hear it. It's definitely a departure from a lot of the stuff Dre has done and the stuff Dre and I have done in the past. It's a hybrid," he revealed. The long-awaited project is nearing completion. "I think he's looking for like three more records," Storch said, while joking, "So that should take about 400 records to get those three. He's got pretty high standards." (Rap-Up)

Rick Ross Tells more about his new partnership with diddy
Southern rapper Rick Ross recently expanded on his new partnership with Diddy and why rubbing elbows with the rap mogul has opened the door to possible clothing, film and book deals.

Ross also said that Diddy would be helping to produce his Teflon Don album.
"It was the even bigger and better things that are on the horizon, which continue to present themselves every day -- things I never considered up to this point. Book deals, now we're considering liquor endorsements, clothing lines, films, books. Me and F. Gary Gray [who directed Ross' "Super High" video] are talking about doing some things. I just wanna make sure I make the right decisions when those opportunities present themselves...We went through so many records. Just to hear [Diddy's] input down to the smallest things, you know: percussions and snares and the production of the production. That's what I want. That's what I respect." (MTV)

This June, a number of top rappers will head to the Tupac Amaru Shakur Center Stone Mountain to celebrate the birthday of legendary rapper Tupac Shakur.

Rick Ross, Bun B., Too $hort, The Outlawz, Roscoe Dash and Pill are among the rap stars who will gather in Atlanta at the 2nd Annual Tupac Shakur Birthday Concert on June 16th to honor the slain rap icon.

"Tupac was a legend, may his memory last 100 lifetimes,” Rick Ross told AllHipHop.com in a statement released today (May 27th).

As the sole surviving member of UGK, Bun B. said that he realized the value and challenges associated with upholding a legacy, after his partner Pimp C. died of natural causes in December of 2007.

"As the sole member of UGK, I understand and accept the role of upholding a legacy. It's not an easy task, and I accept and appreciate the love and support for family, friends, fans and supporters alike,” Bun B. stated. “So I'm always ready to help uphold the honor of hip hop's fallen soldier. I take pride in standing and remembering 2Pac, one of the greatest ever."

The second annual birthday celebration is being produced by Tupac’s mother Afeni Shakur and comedian Mike Epps.

“This is the second year that we are celebrating Pac’s birthday in concert,” Mike Epps said. “As fans we are just giving back some of what he gave to us. This charity event helps support the Tupac Amaru Shakur Center for the Arts in Atlanta. On June 16th, Ms. Shakur and I along with some of the biggest names in hip hop will celebrate Tupac's life, legacy and music! Don't miss it!”

Tickets for the event are $25 and will be available at www.16thofjune.com and at the Tupac Amaru Shakur Center for the Arts located at 5616 Memorial Drive in Stone Mountain, GA.
