Jaguars not getting Quinn... but bengals are signing pacman

Earlier today, a report emerged that the Jaguars are interested in taking Brady Quinn off the Broncos' hands. For the record, the Broncos told Josina Anderson of FOX 31 in Denver that the team has "no interest" in moving Quinn.

Privately, we're hearing the same thing, in even stronger terms. Specifically, the Broncos say they'll "never" trade Quinn.

And why should they? At $700,000 per year over the next two years, Quinn is a very affordable option at backup quarterback. His contract spikes in 2011 only if he takes 70 percent of the snaps in 2010.

That fact could make Quinn inclined to play for a team where he has a chance to trigger the escalator. But, frankly, he has no say in the matter.

A league source tells us that cornerback Pacman Jones will be signing with the Bengals.

The move comes a day after his second workout with the team since the end of the 2009 season.

Jones hasn't played since 2008, and he missed several games that season after getting into a scuffle with his full-time bodyguard.

In March, Pacman's camp was at one point putting out the word that he would be signing with the Lions. The Lions, though interested, never made a serious play for him. Possibly in part because Pacman's camp put out the word prematurely that he'd be signing with the Lions.
